When connecting a road to an FSR, section 23 of the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA) requires that a crossing permit be granted by the district chief. The Wetaskiwin District`s road use agreement policy aims to preserve road infrastructure, while minimising publicly funded maintenance costs and protecting the safety of all road users. It is therefore necessary to adopt road use agreements between companies and industry (resources / extraction) that cause traffic jams with the potential to damage our roads. The county monitors these roads and ensures that road use agreements are implemented in order to avoid problems such as road damage. Wetaskiwin County`s road infrastructure is intended for public use and Wetaskiwin County recognizes that the economy and industry (resource/extraction) depend on road infrastructure. Sometimes the demands placed on the road by truck traffic often exceed the capacity of the roads, which can damage the pavement and make it dangerous. . . .
